WordApp · PrayApp · DisciplineApp — Last updated: July 2026
This is general boilerplate drafted for an indie-developer app of this size and has not had formal legal review. It should be read once before publishing to confirm it matches how the apps actually behave, and is not a substitute for legal advice if the apps' scope changes materially (e.g. adding social features, handling payments beyond RevenueCat, or expanding outside the UK/US/EU).
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of WordApp, PrayApp, and DisciplineApp (together, the "Apps"), developed and operated by an independent developer ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using any of the Apps, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Apps.
WordApp, PrayApp, and DisciplineApp are companion apps for personal spiritual practice — daily devotional reading and reflection, prayer journaling, and tracking of spiritual disciplines. They are tools to support your own faith practice, not a substitute for church, pastoral counsel, or professional advice of any kind.
You agree not to:
Reflections, prayers, and discipline notes you enter into the Apps ("Your Content") remain yours. By using the Apps, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display Your Content back to you as part of providing the service. We do not read, review, sell, or use Your Content for any purpose other than operating the Apps and, where you explicitly trigger it, the "Export to LifeOS" clipboard feature.
We do not claim ownership of Your Content, and we do not use it to train any AI model.
The Apps do not display third-party advertising and we do not sell or rent Your Content or personal data to advertisers or data brokers. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what is collected and why.
The Apps, their design, branding, and underlying code are owned by us. Scripture text is sourced from licensed Bible translation APIs and remains the property of the respective rights holders; we do not claim ownership of scripture text itself.
The Apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us using the details below and we will delete the account promptly.
The Apps are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the Apps will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. Devotional content, word-study data, and any other in-app material are provided for personal edification and are not a substitute for direct engagement with Scripture or pastoral guidance.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Apps — including loss of data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Apps is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months before the claim arose.
We may update, modify, or discontinue any feature of the Apps at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Apps after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Apps if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Apps and delete your account at any time.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless applicable local consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction requires otherwise.
